Auburn’s First Spring Scrimmage

Auburn held there first scrimmage Saturday morning in the indoor facility. The scrimmage was planned to be held at Jordan Hare but due to rain they moved the scrimmage indoors. Clemson Game

Auburn will kick off the 2012 season with a game against Clemson on September 1st in the dome in Atlanta. Last year, Clemson snapped a 14 game losing streak against Auburn and handed Auburn their first loss in 18 games. Could there possibly be a 9 game conference schedule?

The A.Ds at the SEC schools will look into going to a 9 game schedule.  We are a long way from seeing this happen, but they are going to give it some consideration.  The now 14 team SEC who play 8 conference games and 4 nonconference games need to show the more attractive and competetive read more »

Defensive Line Game Plan Changes

Brian VanGorder has started his process of changing the Auburn defensive line game plan. The new game plan calls for much simpler tactics than former DC Ted Roof’s defense. Gabe Wright out for spring

Auburn Defensive Tackle Gabe Wright is expected to miss the rest of spring training due to a foot injury. Coach Gene Chizik says that other players will have to step up and work harder to feel the void.

Mondays practice will be in full pads

Monday the Tigers will be in full pads for the first time in spring Training.  Auburn started spring training Friday and were in helmets and shorts on Saturday.  After an off day on Sunday the Tigers will get back to work on Monday morning. Lutzenkirchen to miss spring practice

Philip Lutzenkirch will miss spring practice after having shoulder surgery to repair a torn lanbram.  Lutzenkirchen holds the school record for most touchdowns by a tightend.  He’s been dealing with the injury since he was a freshman when he apparently suffered the injury.  Best of wishes for a speedy recovery.
